Yesterday was Matt's first softball game of the season and Finn and I came out to cheer the team on. Softball is so exciting with the big bright lights, the shrill ring of a ball pinging off a metal bat. The dust cloud of someone sliding into home and all the new and exciting people to meet and make raspberries at. Raspberries are Finn's most favorite thing to do these days and to be perfectly honest it is my favorite thing to watch these days as well!
See for yourself and you will know what I mean

Stupid Baby Tricks
"I can suck on my bottom lip, what can you do?"
"I can ride a horsey, can you?"
"I can play pinball. Okay...I can watch pinball."
But if you come over I'll let you play pinball with me!

Food
Remember the pile of food I blogged about previously? Well this is what it turned into. On the bottom from left to right we have creamy sweet potatoes, pureed cauliflower & blueberries. Up on top is another blueberry cube and french green beans with mint and sweet peas with basil. So far Finn has enjoyed all of these flavors, and lucky for me I have freezer bags full of them for easy dinner times.
I finally uploaded and converted some videos to my computer so here is Finn's first foray into solid foods.

five lucky months
There once was a boy named Finn
We really don't know where to begin
Today is month five
We're so glad he's alive
Just look at his shit eating grin
*Note from Finnegan*
"Thank you Aunt Kathleen for buying my shamrock onesie! And thank you cousin Christia for making it"
If you would like to own an adorable handmade onesie head on over to her Etsy shop MamaBird

Newness
A few weekends ago we headed up to Placerville so that I could have a Father/Daughter snowboard day, and while I was up getting my butt kicked by some deep heavy snow, Finn got to spend the morning relaxing with Nana.
Hi Nana!
While up in Placerville Finn decided that he liked Nana's hound dog puppet, Butch, so much that he wanted to keep him. We re-named him Wrinkles because Butch was a little too "butch" of a name for us. Now if Finn is upset Wrinkle's soft floppy ears help to calm him down. Thank you Nana!
On top of making a new friend up at Nana & Papa's house, Finn tried his first solid foods as well. We steamed some carrots and pureed them up, and braced ourselves for a very short feeding. Surprisingly, Finn loved the carrots and ate up the entire bowl we made for him.
what is this stuff Daddy?
We were expecting Finn to throw a fit during the feeding, but instead he started crying once the carrots ran out and we didn't have anything left to feed him!
"I WANT MORE! WAAAAAA"
I couldn't wait to get back home and start making different baby foods and try them out on my little Hoover.
I went a little overboard at the grocery store; cauliflower, blueberries, peas and carrots. I also bought sweet potatoes and mangoes. I will post the pictures of the finished product in a later post with updates on Hoovers likes and dislikes.

I'm going to go soak my legs now, just thinking about all that heavy powder is making my muscles sore!
Peace out,
Danielle
